This is just a small introductory page for those of you who've ended up here by chance and are really wondering what the heck this is all about :)
This page was created to be an informational resource and a safe place to ask questions for those of you who are pagan, wiccan or interrested in the craft.
No one here will judge you by your life choices or by your questions, so feel free to ask anything that's in your heart. For those of you who don't know what wicca
or paganism are, please try to keep an open mind and I hope you enjoy your visit to my site, again, if you, like anyone, have any questions, feel free to email me
and I will do my best to answer. I do not propose to have all the answers, but I do promise to do my best for anyone who wants to ask something. If I can't help you with your
question, chances are I know someone who can offer at least some sort of answer. No questions are too basic to ask, and no questions submitted will go unanswered.
I have been following my path for almost 5 years now, I consider myself an ecclectic wiccan, which means that I do not limit myself to one area of wicca or paganism, I take those
views that I feel are true for myself and I mesh them together and build my own path that way. Most people who know me are aware of my religious views, one might say that I've come
out of the broom closet ;) Being a wiccan in today's society is not the easiest of tasks, but I feel that I have to follow my heart down the path it leads me and I fight, if I must, along the way.
You can read about my coming out in the personal experiences section of the webpage, which I hope will eventually be filled with personal experiences others have sent to me through email and so forth.
You can also read more about me in the "about me" section of the site.. there will eventually be a section there about my pets/familiars as well :)
What is this Wicca thing she keeps talking about??
Well, to give you a brief explanation of wicca, it is an earth-based religion that concerns itself with the four elements, (earth, air, fire and water) and then extends that to include a fifth element, that of spirit.
It is a greatly spiritual religion whose believers consider themselves to be close and in-tune to the earth and to Mother nature. Most, but not all wiccans worship The god and goddess, who are embodied as the sun and the moon, respectively.
Many people have mental pictures of crazy naked people dancing around bonfires in the woods at night and stiring cauldrons filled with children's entrails and eye of newt, and though that is how witches have often been portrayed in the media, it is
far from the actuality of the situation. But, yes, wiccans do more often than not practice magic.
Holy Shit, Did she say MAGIC??
That's right, I said magic. Let's clear up magic right here and now. Magic does not involve killing animals, eating babies or creepy blood-letting rituals. Magic is a way for wiccans to channel their energies and borrow energies from other sources to concentrate towards a goal.
Wiccans do not use magic to make objects float through the air, or to cause your poor grandmother a heart attack. We do not cause massive highway car pile-ups, we don't curse people and we don't make people fall in love. Magic, done right, does not make things happen *POOF*, it helps us, so that along with good old fashionned
effort, we can make things happen. It's massively similar to a Christian who kneels by their bedside at night and prays to God to give them the strength to do 'whatever'. I believe there to be no such thing as black magic or white magic, magic is simply magic and it is what you make of it. There are people out there who use magic for nasty
purposes and if you want to refer to that as black magic, then okay, but realise, it is not the magic itself that is black, it is the intent of the person.
But you said magic wasn't to curse people!!
What I said was that WICCANS do not use magic to curse people. I am not saying that magic is not capable of that.. anyone who knows what they're doing, knows that magic can be used for bad, just as well as it can be used for good. Anyone who would use their knowledge of magic toward a bad end, no matter what they consider themselves to be, are NOT wiccan.
It is a clear and nasty deviation from the basic rules of wicca to use magic towards a bad end. The basic laws of wicca say that what you send out comes back to you times three, so anyone in their right mind would stop themselves from doing something massively nasty :P Anyone who is interrested in this side of magic should leave this page now, cause you're not going to find anything like that here.
Allow me to redirect you towards Leveyan Satanism.
OH MAN, now she's talking about SATANISM!!
I bring this up because if I don't mention it here, I'm going to get a million emails about it. Wiccan is in no way at all related to Satanism. The reason I mention it is because Leveyan Satanists believe in using magic to help themselves no matter the cost to anyone else and yeah, they believe in cursing people. I don't pretend to know a whole heap load about Satanism, so if you're a Satanist and
you're reading this, please don't write me and tell me that I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, I've READ The Satanic Bible by Anton Levey and though I knw I'm not fully aware of how you choose to live your lives, I'm not totally ignorant of it either. So, if you want to write to me and talk to me about Satanism, that's fine, I'd be perfectly interrested in hearing about your beliefs, but don't tell
me to stop talking about it and that I don't know what I'm talking about, because I've read it, I know.
You've read The Satanic Bible????
Yes, I've read it. I don't agree with many of the things that Anton Levey says in his book, but I have read it and I do believe that satanists are people too and I do have respect for them, despite the fact that I do not agree with their choices of lifestyle. I know that many people out there have a vision of satanism that
is very far from the actual truth, just like people have a mistaken view of wicca. So, allow me here to say for them, that they are not the creepy baby-killing freaks that the Christian faith has made them out to be. Those people are creepy cultists, not satanists, so if you want to express your hatred for something, please do it somewhere else.
That is the end of my rant for now, if there's something I've left out that you would like cleared up, please feel free to email me. Blessed be.
