Verbally calling on a divinity tells your conscious mind that you're not trying to pull any tricks and that you're serious about the working. The sing-song of a rhyme, when spoken aloud, also strengthens the spell, as the vocalization of rhyming words harmonizes the energy around you, making them more conducive to your working. When writing a rhyming communication for divinity, keep in mind this easy rule: Each line must have the same number of syllables, and each line, or every other line, should rhyme.
For example:
"Dark Goddess hover near
lend to me your blessed ear"
(note: this information I gathered from a book, and I don't completely agree with it, but I places it here for you to make up your own mind.. I don't think that every line HAS to have the same number of syllables... the craft is a religeous system that doesn't have it's own dogma, and I don't think the words "must have" have any place within the spirituality of the craft. It's a good idea to have the same number of syllables, it makes the charm or communication flow better, but it is not in any way necessary in my mind.)
